Needle valves are now familiar to you. Let's have a quick look at the amazing points and highlights regarding needle valves.

Uses of Needle Valves

Due to the proper structure that helps out engineers and others while their work, these are the following uses of needle valves.

  1. Needle valves are consumed in flow-metering equipment or tools, primarily when a constant, calibrated, low flow velocity must be conserved for some period.
  2. Needle valves are operated in low-pressure hydraulic operations, chemical processing, and different gas and liquid customs.
  3. Needle valves are utilized to control the cycle and safeguard small measures from the destruction resulting from immediate pressure explosions of liquids and gases.
  4. Heretofore flow rates are low and several rolls of the valve body are needed to unpack or tighten, needle valves are not adopted for modest shutoff devices.
  5. Needle valves are also periodically obtained in space operations, to disclose an answerable yet smooth allotment of gas without a considerable amount of pressure.

Types of Needle Valves

Needle Valves come in two different types and each has different features. They are

1. Inline Needle Valve

The inline needle valves have their separate inlet and outlet port. It is also in a straight line. These valves can be enrolled, mainly, in an upright line flow operation.

2. Angle Needle Valve

The Angel Needle valves have their separate inlet and outlet port. It is at a certain angle. Mostly, a 90° angle is incorporated between the inlet and outlet for adequate operation incorporation. This kind of needle valve is obtained at the place where the pipe corners.

Introduction to Needle Valve

Introduction to Needle Valve

A Needle Valve is a type of valve which can be used to regulate flow of a substance, usually either gas or water, through an appliance or system. The Needle Valve unique feature of the value is the inclusion of a small plunger, with a shape akin to a Needle Valve.

A Needle Valve is a valve which is used for regulating the flow of a fluid/gas through a system or an appliance. A small plunger is used in needle valve which looks quite like a needle.

This Valve is also known as an Isolation Valve or Isolation Needle Valve. Typically used to reduce high pressure to low pressure.

Advantages of Needle valve

  1. Using a Needle Valve helps in controlling the flow of the fluid to a very low rate with high accuracy.
  2. During installation you need not worry about the space, since Needle Valve is quite small and compact in design
  3. Even with a lesser volume of fluid, throttling is possible in this type of Valve
  4. The flow rate is Needle Valve can be adjusted very much precisely
  5. The operation, maintenance and use of Needle Valve is much easier.

Construction and Operation of Needle Valve

This Valve uses a pin (tapered) to open the space gradually which helps in fine control of the flow. The flow can be regulated and controlled using a handle which is connected to the spindle.

The orifice of a needle valve is relatively small when compared to other valves, the seat is long and tapered. The plunger exactly fits the seat.

When the handle is turned – which causes the plunger to retract the flow between the plunger and seat becomes possible. Until there is complete retraction of the plunger the flow of fluid is impeded.
This clearly means that in a needle valve the flow can be easily adjusted.

The plunger takes several turns to retract due to the fine threads a precise regulated flow rate is possible.

What are High-Pressure Needle Valves?

High-pressure valves are used in industries ranging from global oil production to the aerospace industry. It is present in almost all hydraulic systems to safely keep the system pressure below the desired upper limit. In general, there are five types of high-pressure valves.

High-pressure needle valves have their specialty and features based on their usage and functioning. This makes the user clear of the problem of the needle valves regarding pressure and temperature. Let's start the discussion and gain some insights regarding high-pressure needle valves.

About High-Pressure needle valves

As the name suggests, a high-pressure needle valve is the design of a needle valve for controlling high temperature and high pressure. Needle valves are commonly used to control clean gases and liquids.

High- pressure Needle valve manufacturers have designed this valve from two body materials: one is brass and the other is stainless steel. Brass High-pressure needle valves are used in potable water applications, other non-chemically reactive liquids, and non-corrosive liquids.

When this valve is used for high-pressure fluids, manufacturers use stainless steel because it is the best material for corrosive liquids and high-pressure gases. The durability of this material is long, and it also withstands high temperatures.

Features of High-pressure needle valves

There are various special features of high-pressure needle valves. They are:

  • Low-wear design since the spindle head does not rotate in the housing
  • Low torque and smooth  valve handle the operation even at high pressure
  • Leakage tested according to BS6755 / ISO 5208 leak rate A
  • A wide selection of materials and configurations is available
  • Customer-specific combination of valve and measuring instrument (instrumentation connection) on request.

Applications of high-pressure needle valves

These high-pressure valves are primarily used to regulate the pressure high-pressure of the circuit and are typically used to offset weight or external forces. The valve's main port is connected to the rod end of the cylinder and the pressure setting is slightly higher than necessary to prevent free fall of the load. These are the following applications of high-pressure needle valves.

  1. Petroleum, chemical industry, machine building, and automation.
  2. For injection system, test bench, hydraulic unit, discharge protection.
  3. Wet sandblasting/cutting, high-pressure cleaning.

Conclusion

Techtube is one of the largest manufacturers and suppliers of equipment and tools which enables an individual to have control on the fluids or gases.

You can also gather an experience of this just by ordering the best quality material for your work from this website. Have good control at high pressure by utilizing high-pressure needle valves!!

Functions of a Needle Valve How to maintain a Needle Valve?

When you are an engineer, you desire to have a hard time building your project. It is always a principle of engineers to use quality raw materials in their construction. The most used needle valve is also required. Let's have a glance at the functions and maintenance of your needle valve.

What is a Needle Valve?

A needle valve is tried to accurately regulate flow costs of neat gasses or liquids. The adjustments are incremental and steady for regulating the flow rate, still, they can also be obtained as a valid shut-off valve. A needle Valve is commonly only obtained for inferior flow costs and has a very substantial strength decline from the basin to the opening. They are also known as plunger valves.

Functions of a Needle Valve

The main function of the needle valves is controlling valves and helping engineers and the users of needle valves to properly control and organize water flow and pressure.

How to maintain a needle valve?

Here are 3 tips for you on how to maintain a needle valve.

1. Clean the needle valve area

Everything can be maintained to increase its lifespan. For that, simply you need to clean your needle valve on an annual basis. Avoid cleaning your needle valve monthly as it can also be destructive for the valve. By simply cleaning the needle valve on an annual basis, you can reduce the cost of repairs as a result the valve can be used beyond the specified period.

2. Inspect your needle valve

What you need to do is have complete knowledge regarding your needle valve. For this, look in your needle valve carefully to ensure that no leakages or no damage are being done. Then, look for the material used and have a look that it has corrosion or rust on it. You need to check your valve at different temperatures and different pressures to avoid any kind of repairs or replacement.

3. Lubricate your needle valve

This is the simplest, easiest, and most required method to maintain your needle valve, which is lubrication. As we all know that every part of the machines, gadgets, and equipment used in production needs to be lubricated with oil or grease. Lubrication will help in the smooth and fast processing of your needle valve. Lubrication also limits the wear of your needle valve.

Lastly, wrapping up by guiding you to have a needle valve from the best manufacturer and supplier of valves and other required material Techtube. Book your needle valve now and have an amazing experience while using it.

Needle Valves- How Are They Different From Flow Control

Needle Valves- How Are They Different From Flow Control

Needle valves are valves that have a narrow and tapering point at the end of the valve stem. This is the stem of the valve, which is lowered to block or restrict the flow.

The needle valve stem's delicate threading design, along with its huge seat area, ensures accurate resistance. These valves are used to control and check the flow of liquids and gases into the system's delicate gauges, which are vulnerable to harm if exposed to high pressure.

These valves are also seen in industrial machinery when the flow must be brought to a complete stop. They're also used in situations when a precise flow modification is required, or where a modest, regulated flow is required. These valves are versatile enough to be used as both on and off valves, as well as in a throttling system.

Difference between Needle Valves and Flow Control

Flow Controls and Needle Valves are used to slow actuator speed by reducing the rate of flow in a pneumatic circuit leg. Although both have the same basic function of flow restriction, the Needle Valve regulates flow in both directions (bi-directional) whereas the Flow Control Valve only regulates flow in one way (enabling free flow in the different direction).

A precisely threaded stem allows gradual adjustment of the amount of controlled flow passing through the valve in both the Flow Control and the Needle Valve. Flow enters the input port, passes through a tapered stem-sized aperture, and exits the output port. The Flow Control has a F2F by-pass check, which allows for rapid unrestricted flow from the valve.

There are two sorts of Flow Controls to consider, and their selection and location within a pneumatic circuit have a significant impact on an actuator's performance.

The flow to an actuator is restricted by a Meter-In Flow Control (also known as a Reverse Flow Control).

A Meter-Out valve, which regulates the exhaust flow from an actuator, is the most often utilized Flow Control.

It's critical to understand your flow rate requirements before choosing a Needle Valve or Flow Control for your pneumatic system. The related actuator's speed is determined by how rapidly it can be filled with air at the intake and expelled at the output.

Conclusion

Needle valves are used to ensure that the fluid travels through the valve and spins 90 degrees before passing through the seat orifice. A rod with a cone-shaped tip is included with this seat. The valves are used to control the flow of liquids and gases at low flow rates.
